Hi,

my comment would be that it is strange the EU HF enjoys so high position
compared to WPX and IARU, etc. Still participation is quite limited in EU HF
and as EU is divided into so many areas it is really simple to get very high
points compared to the competition and difficulty of 36 hours efforts in
WPX, etc... Shouldn't it be at least equal to WPX? Also, top scores are
usually quite similar in such short contest as EUHF, that means many people
will get very high points. Just for example if we look at 2006 results the
top ten in MIXED HP looks like:

RA1AIP 1597 1565 324 1533 2.00% 496692
UW2M 1475 1462 308 1451 0.88% 446908
RK3AWL 1467 1440 314 1413 1.84% 443682
UU7J 1503 1448 313 1393 3.66% 436009
UW5Q 1349 1325 318 1301 1.78% 413718
LY5R 1328 1307 313 1286 1.58% 402518
LY4AA 1366 1355 297 1344 0.81% 399168
LY6M 1340 1324 298 1308 1.19% 389784
LY9Y 1296 1270 302 1244 2.01% 375688
RW1ZA 1259 1249 289 1239 0.79% 358071

That means in EU3 (my area) all the LY stations get 793-850 points easily
which is way more than anybody can get in any other contest than CQWW and
RDXC. Even YL2GD who is 14th (!!) will get as many points as the winner of
WPX in EU3!! That does not make sense. Furthermore, participation from EU
areas 1 and 2 is much smaller in EU HF. Maximum points (850) in those areas
go to F5VIH and OL5Y for 20th and 22nd place overall!!

Really, the winning scores are too similar and participation too small to
grant so high points to EUHF.

Otherwise everything looks locigal and great job done by Harry and others!

One more thing to emphasize is really importance of checking cheating. Now
suddenly there is something else in addition to just winning contest to gain
- WRTC spot, and my guess is we will see average multiplier figures of SOAB
non-assisted stations going up in big contests. I really hope the WRTC
organizers having the experience and means will urge and help organizers of
CQWW, WPX and IARU to expose those guys...

Harry,
Could you please change around points per contests
for:

CQWW (CW&SSB) 950
RDXC 910
EU HF 850
WPX (CW&SSB) 780
IARU 760
WAE (CW&SSB) 750
ARRL (CW&SSB) 720
SS (CW&SSB) 600
NA Sprint (CW&SSB) 520

I think giving some advantage to RDXC is fair in this
table, but NA Sprint may be eliminated without too
much pain to everyone(or state the reason why it's
even there)

Having NA Sprint and SS higher that it list here
doesn't make too much sense. Could you propose more
competitive test than NA Sprint to be there to begin
with?
Judge selection different from the 'normal lottery'
looks a bit suspicious. I don't think we had an issue
there at PY WRTC or earlier, so can you please back
off from changing the rule on judges to 2006 or
similar?
Thanks, Alex KU1CW
