Not totally true Bob...
I only have access to the ARRL DX results but I think CQWW and WPX would
show the same pattern.
Out of the 9 USA teams I could only find K1ZM, K5ZD and W2SC(@K5ZD) that
has won the ARRL DX contest Single Opr on SSB or CW going back to 1997.
That's only 3 out of the 18 operators that were on the USA teams. I didn't
count W2GD because he was on the French team and N6AA on the Pacific/Oceania
team. W2SC has also won ARRL DX from 8P6 and K1ZM from VY2ZM. N2NT, K1KI,
and N9RV have made the top ten box. K3LR has won multi-multi.
It's interesting in the final results two of the top three teams from the
USA were from the west coast. Also, just about everyone on the USA teams are
regulars in the CW Sprint.
BTW.. Would you compare operating a DX contest from New England to operating
one anywhere else in the USA ?
