Hi Tonno!

EUHF is one of the contests which has very good UBN analises and a lot
of EU activity and this is MIX mode contest. We had all the reasons
to put in very high in ranking!.

73s, Harry RA3AUU

TV> Hi,

TV> my comment would be that it is strange the EU HF enjoys so high position
TV> compared to WPX and IARU, etc. Still participation is quite limited in EU HF
TV> and as EU is divided into so many areas it is really simple to get very high
TV> points compared to the competition and difficulty of 36 hours efforts in
TV> WPX, etc... Shouldn't it be at least equal to WPX? Also, top scores are
TV> usually quite similar in such short contest as EUHF, that means many people
TV> will get very high points. Just for example if we look at 2006 results the
TV> top ten in MIXED HP looks like:

TV> RA1AIP 1597 1565 324 1533 2.00% 496692
TV> UW2M 1475 1462 308 1451 0.88% 446908
TV> RK3AWL 1467 1440 314 1413 1.84% 443682
TV> UU7J 1503 1448 313 1393 3.66% 436009
TV> UW5Q 1349 1325 318 1301 1.78% 413718
TV> LY5R 1328 1307 313 1286 1.58% 402518
TV> LY4AA 1366 1355 297 1344 0.81% 399168
TV> LY6M 1340 1324 298 1308 1.19% 389784
TV> LY9Y 1296 1270 302 1244 2.01% 375688
TV> RW1ZA 1259 1249 289 1239 0.79% 358071

TV> That means in EU3 (my area) all the LY stations get 793-850 points easily
TV> which is way more than anybody can get in any other contest than CQWW and
TV> RDXC. Even YL2GD who is 14th (!!) will get as many points as the winner of
TV> WPX in EU3!! That does not make sense. Furthermore, participation from EU
TV> areas 1 and 2 is much smaller in EU HF. Maximum points (850) in those areas
TV> go to F5VIH and OL5Y for 20th and 22nd place overall!!

TV> Really, the winning scores are too similar and participation too small to
TV> grant so high points to EUHF.

TV> Otherwise everything looks locigal and great job done by Harry and others!

TV> One more thing to emphasize is really importance of checking cheating. Now
TV> suddenly there is something else in addition to just winning contest to gain
TV> - WRTC spot, and my guess is we will see average multiplier figures of SOAB
TV> non-assisted stations going up in big contests. I really hope the WRTC
TV> organizers having the experience and means will urge and help organizers of
TV> CQWW, WPX and IARU to expose those guys...

TV> Harry,
TV> Could you please change around points per contests
TV> for:
TV>
TV> CQWW (CW&SSB) 950
TV> RDXC 910
TV> EU HF 850
TV> WPX (CW&SSB) 780
TV> IARU 760
TV> WAE (CW&SSB) 750
TV> ARRL (CW&SSB) 720
TV> SS (CW&SSB) 600
TV> NA Sprint (CW&SSB) 520

TV> I think giving some advantage to RDXC is fair in this
TV> table, but NA Sprint may be eliminated without too
TV> much pain to everyone(or state the reason why it's
TV> even there)

TV> Having NA Sprint and SS higher that it list here
TV> doesn't make too much sense. Could you propose more
TV> competitive test than NA Sprint to be there to begin
TV> with?
TV> Judge selection different from the 'normal lottery'
TV> looks a bit suspicious. I don't think we had an issue
TV> there at PY WRTC or earlier, so can you please back
TV> off from changing the rule on judges to 2006 or
TV> similar?
TV> Thanks, Alex KU1CW
