[WRTC2006] RES: TAM SP

Ohms,

     I was sorry to hear about this on the news last night. Since I have now been to
Brazil (for WRTC) I have an interest in following what is going on in the news
down there in PY land.

    I remember when the VARIG problems were going on last year during WRTC week that they were putting those on the VARIG return flight  to GRU on the TAM flight from FLN to the Sao Paulo airport at Congonhas. John  (K4BAI) and I ended up using our backup reservation to GRU on Gol instead.

   From reading the news reports it appears they have a problem with the runway when it 
rains. I understand that jets have slided off the runway before in bad WX. Too bad 
something like this happened for them to really take notice how big of a danger this problem
really was.
