Hi John!

JC> Hi Harry,
JC>
JC>
JC> Thank you for your quick response to my quesiton.  I am naturally
JC> disappointed to see a  rule that limits consideration to only 4 DX
JC> contest scores since nearly 100% of my own DX contest entries
JC> occur from a DX location and not my home country, so in effect I
JC> and others in a similiar situation are penalized for our off shore efforts.

I would like to say that in HF radiosport with so many different
aspects of this hobby you would not be able to create rules which
would satisfy everyone.

In your case, yes, it is quite disappointed to see you miss half of
the score from DX QTH. But from our point, we provide you opportunity
to use your 50% results from DX QTH. So, minimum 50% of applicant
contest score must be made from applicant hoem territory !

JC> Two more questions occur to me after re-reading the TL selection criteria:
JC>
JC> 1.  There is no mention in the WRTC 2010 TL selection criteria of
JC> a bonus for operators who achieve a World High score in any of the
JC> major international contests.  Was this an intentional decision by
JC> the rules committee  or simply an oversight, since a bonus for a
JC> top world score was included in prior WRTC selection criteria?  Comments?

We have taken a decision not to have any bonus points for top world
scores. If you win you win !!

JC> 2.  CQWW and CQWPX results for year 2005 were not  considered in
JC> TL selection computations for WRTC 2006 because the results for
JC> these major CQ events would not be available until after the
JC> deadline for submission of WRTC 2006 TL applications.

JC> The chart of eligible events for WRTC 2010 does not include the
JC> 2005 CQWW or CQ WPX contests.  Since the CQWW and CQ WPX are
JC> viewed by most operators worldwide as THE PREMIERE international
JC> radiosporting events of the contest season, skipping and/or
JC> ignoring the results from any calender year for these events would
JC> be most unfortunate, given the skill and effort expended by
JC> serious contenders worldwide in these important contests.
JC>
JC> To maintain consistency from WRTC to WRTC, it would be
JC> appropriate to include scores for the 2005 CQWW and 2005 CQ WPX
JC> in the WRTC 2010 list of TL selection  events since this would
JC> eliminate skipping a full year of achievement in these important events.   Comments?

There are a lot of contests to go for in announced period. We don't
see any reasons to include 2005 contests into the list, especially
those which took part before WRTC-2006.
