Hi Fabio!
HI> MessageHi Guys,
HI> some comments at the rules that I hope we think are still preliminary ..
HI> Looking at the EU areas there are some anomaly that I think need to be revised.
HI> Including Italy in direct competition with CT ( CU included ) EA,
HI> GD, 9H is not too fair, Italy has no same condition that the most
HI> western countries in the list , propagation fade out 1or 2 hours
HI> before CU ad G, in any band and will be really no fair competition
HI> in this group .. Best place could be area 4, in a similar geographic place.
HI> Including SV ( are there also SV9 ? ) in this area seem not to be
HI> the right place, from SV condition are pretty worst that YU o EW ..
HI> Probable a one more area could be a choice to reduce gaps between
HI> them and compete in a close field, Europe areas even also US areas
HI> probable need to be selective to adjust propagation difference.
As I was answering Jeff KU8E, the situation can get to a noncense with
splitting continents to more and more ares. Since none of us would
ever do a correct selection let's live with what we offer.
HI> As the VE station from east to west all competitive ? only one
HI> team could not be the best choice in a 5 tjme area country as USA !
HI> SO single Band, well some time there no chance to be setted on a
HI> All Band, most of the time , wheather issue, work issue, operator
HI> issue, same shared QTH for 2 SOSB, you cannot have the station
HI> setted for a All Band, and Single Band is the only choice to be
HI> competitive. Can i suggest a Category Factor for the SOSB ??
We are talking about the strongest contesters possible. You can chose
strongest contesters from MAXIMUM categories, which are definitely not
Sinle Band ones.
HI> Contest Rules are changed, no more IARU zone but Countries ? from
HI> DXCC list or as CQWW with WAEDC list too ?
Again, we are going to name the World Champions !!! The World
Champions should be equally best in CQing, S&Ping and MULTs on all the
bands from 80 to 10. We want competitors to have real fun not just
calling CQ but extensivly moving MULTs from one band to another while
running pile-ups. If you go strictly by IARU rules you don't have many
mults to "move" - HQ guys staying all over and there not that many ITU
zones on.
As to the question of which list to use CQWW or DXCC, I should say
that this is an important question but not now. It is not a big deal
to add two or three more mults to CTY file.
HI> This change force the developer to create a new WRTC2010 module
HI> for this unique event, surely this approach can delight the
HI> operators capability in S&P even limited with the low band
HI> antennas available, my question is is really needed change contest
HI> Rules ??
YES.
I believe I explained this question earlier.
HI> Referees : Selected from Team Leader ? Is there the right choice
HI> ? The scope of the Judge/Referre is to be an experenced observer
HI> and to have the capability to judge, and follow the Team, is the
HI> selection is made from the TL, that could be some Judge selection
HI> that cannot supply that kind of standard needed to be one of them.
We are confident that the WRTC judge should be as strong and
professional as competitors themselves or even better. The judge is 24
hours SO2R while competitors don't need to do SO2R, so it should be a
very very qualified judge !! Who else but the Team Leader knows the
best judge he can trust to ???
HI> Hope that an open discussion coul help to improve the rules of
HI> the next amazing experience ... WRTC2010 !
There is no other choice but open discussion, so questions are
welcome.
Just don't forget that I don't have all the answer.
